Consultant General and Transplant Surgeon
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a friendly and growing kidney transplant unit along with maintaining a general surgery interest. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed consultant colleague who will work effectively within the team and contribute to the further development of the unit.
This is a replacement post and the appointee will join the other three consultant surgeons in a joint multidisciplinary, multi-professional Transplant team on the City Hospital Campus for adults and on the QMC Campus for paediatric transplantation. The successful candidate will have a commitment to elective general surgery in addition to transplant and renal failure surgery. A surgical subspecialty interest of minimally invasive surgery including laparoscopic donor nephrectomy and/or endocrine surgery would be welcome but not essential.
Applicants should be on the GMC’s specialist register for General Surgery, or be within six months of receiving a CCT at the time of interview, and have a current and broad experience of general, transplant and access surgery.
Interviews will be held on Wednesday 2nd May 2018.
