Consultant ENT Surgeon
North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust is no ordinary NHS hospital. It has a reputation for dynamism, integration of clinicians in management, and high quality patient care. The Department of ENT Surgery is unusual for a DGH, being arranged by subspecialty for more than two decades, offering the opportunities of a university hospital while also retaining the freedom of movement to innovate. Examples include Unified airway clinic, Integrated balance clinic, One stop neck lump clinic over many years.
Following the merger of Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals with Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Huntingdon last year, we have had the opportunity to create a full time role which will add expertise to the new, combined Trust, working alongside an existing colleague. This is an exciting opportunity for a new Consultant who has specialist interest in Otology and General ENT Services, to join a multidisciplinary team providing optimal care.
The hospitals provide comprehensive service in adult and paediatric ENT for the Huntingdon, Peterborough, Fenland and South Lincolnshire areas and also receive referrals from the wider region. This post will have sessions at Hinchingbrooke and Peterborough Hospitals. The service is supported by ENT Registrars from the eastern deanery. Clinics are supported by state-of-the-art diagnostic and monitoring technology and decision-support tools involving over a decade of electronic patient records.
The ENT service has close links with colleagues at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge so that there is increasing regional collaboration and joint professional development, with plans for regular inter-hospital meetings.
The closing date for applications is Sunday 25 March 2018
