(Post suitable for both Consultant Medical and Non-Medical AfC Band 9 Appointment)
Consultant medical salary scale for England (Salary scale £76,761 to £103,490 per annum) or on NHS Agenda for Change terms and
conditions Band 9 (Salary scale £79,415 to £100,431 per annum) for non-medical candidates plus £11,000 per annum market supplement.
Full time 10 Programmed Activities (PAs) or
37.5 hours per week

PHE North West covers a population of over seven million spread across a large geography comprising a mix of urban and rural areas. Our mission is to protect and improve the nation’s health and to address inequalities through working with national and local government, the NHS, industry and the voluntary and community sector.
We are seeking to appoint a highly experienced visible and motivating senior public health professional to establish and lead programmes that are responsive to the local needs and deliver against population health priorities. The post holder will have a leadership portfolio that includes reducing health
inequalities, knowledge and intelligence and research and development. The Director of Programmes will also lead on quality and business planning for the North West Centre and have a leadership role on behalf of the PHE Centre Network for a national programme within one of the four public
We are looking for an excellent collaborator with a strong focus on developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships and a passion for improving population health and reducing health inequalities. Strong, credible communication and engagement skills are vital in balancing a very outward-facing role and internal working within PHE.
