We are one of the largest Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and Social Care Trusts in the country. Working closely with service users, carers and partner organisations, we've been able to make real improvements to our diverse range of services, from health and social care, right through to high secure provision. This passion to improve has been recognised by the CQC who have recently rated us “Good”.

Mersey Care’s vision and values drive our organisation and the way we work together to deliver services. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate during recruitment, and any subsequent employment with the Trust, that their behaviour supports our values of Continuous Improvement, Accountability, Respectfulness and Enthusiasm (CARE). The CQC stated “It was clear that most staff across the organisation understood, and were committed to, the vision and values of the organisation. These were well communicated and the work to win both hearts and minds was apparent”.

Applications are invited for a full-time Consultant Psychiatrist in Addiction Psychiatry within the Addictions Services team at Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust.

This post (10 PAs) provides the opportunity to work with one other full time consultant, to deliver clinical leadership across our community and inpatient bases within Liverpool and the Sefton/Southport areas. Both Consultants will be supported by two specialty doctors and psychiatry trainees in the Health Education England North West rotation scheme.

You will be supporting our multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high quality care and a range of treatment interventions to service users with complex care needs.

This is an exciting time to be joining our team with the recent expansion of our services. The post holder will have opportunities to provide strong leadership in the further development and delivery of our clinical pathways and to maintain and grow our links with colleagues in acute, primary and shared care services.

We offer excellent opportunities for professional development and for research projects. We look forward to hearing from applicants with a passion for supporting colleagues with their professional expertise and leadership qualities, and contributing to service developments in the field of Addictions Psychiatry.

Please ensure you check the email account (including junk/spam boxes) from which you apply regularly as we will use this to contact you regarding your application.

We reserve the right to close any vacancies from further applications when we have received a minimum amount of applications from which to make a shortlist. Please ensure you apply without delay if you wish to be considered for this role.
