Consultant Anaesthetist Posts
Applications are invited for two Consultant Anaesthetist posts in Aberdeen.
Located in the North East of Scotland, Aberdeen is an affluent, friendly and vibrant city, combining all the amenities of a large city with quick, easy access to its beautiful surrounding countryside and coastline.
The first post includes theatre sessions in Orthopaedics, Vascular, and Breast Surgery, in addition to two flexible sessions, and a weekly Preoperative Assessment Clinic. The second post includes sessions in General, ENT, and Vascular Surgery, in addition to two flexible sessions. On call duties will be part of the general on call anaesthetic rota (approx 1:8) and is on a non-resident basis.
Aberdeen has a large Anaesthetic department which covers a comprehensive range of clinical services, and, as a teaching hospital department there is strong involvement in a wide range of educational activities. There are also many opportunities to develop research interests in collaboration with the local universities. Consequently, there is excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic appointee to develop interests in a wide choice of areas. It is possible for consultants to adapt their clinical duties over time to fit with their interests and for some aspects of the job plan to be changed on negotiation with the Clinical Director.

Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from date of interview or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR).
