Consultant Rheumatologist and Acute General Physician
This is an exciting opportunity to apply for this newly created post to support the expansion and development of the Rheumatology Department, along with the provision of Acute Medical support to the Ambulatory Care and Emergency Assessment Units.
Applicants with a sub-specialty interest applicable to a DGH Hospital are encouraged to apply, but a particular interest in Bone Health and Osteoporosis is welcomed.
The Trust received an overall Good for services at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital following its CQC inspection, and was recently announced the only hospital in the country to meet all it’s key targets.
The Hospital has always been renowned for its friendly atmosphere and good working relationships. The Trust has University Hospital status with UCL and the Royal Free, which provides an opportunity to strengthen our teaching and R&D programme and brings a more academic environment to the hospital.
The surrounding areas are both urban and rural, the latter including many attractive villages within easy reach of the Hospital. Excellent schools are found nearby. There is very good access to central London by road or rail and to the Midlands and the North via the M1 and A1 and London Luton Airport is within twenty minutes of the hospital. Residence is required within ten miles by road or thirty minutes travelling time of the Hospital.
Applicants must be fully registered on the UK General Medical Council’s Specialist Register and have MRCP. Specialist Registrars may apply if within 6 months of CCT. Candidates unable for personal reasons to work full-time are also invited to apply.
