Senior Clinical Fellow in General Surgery
Applications are invited for a Senior Clinical Fellow in General Surgery (Upper GI sub Specialist Interest) at ST3 level and above. This post is based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital from as soon as possible until 31st July 2018.
Candidates should be in possession of the MBChB (UK) or equivalent and have appropriate experience in General Surgery. General Surgery includes Colorectal, Upper GI, Vascular and Breast Surgery.
The post is available within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde hospitals and duties will include: managing general surgery patients; participating in the on-call rota in the department, emergency ward cover; and attending outpatient clinics and theatre as required.
The Acute Division of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is the largest group of adult acute hospitals in Scotland. We provide a wide range of services from community-based care through to the full range of general hospital services. Employing more than 14,300 staff, we serve a core catchment population of 560,000. Our patients not only come from Greater Glasgow and Clyde but also, in some instances, from the whole of the West of Scotland and for our national services, from the whole of Scotland.
To practice medicine in the UK you need to hold both GMC registration and a licence to practice. This post does not have Educational approval and will not be recognised for training. The post holder will be offered the same opportunities for education as the other training post jobs. They will also be part of the general surgical on call rota.
