Consultant ENT Surgeons
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who will join our department to complement our existing team.
We provide general ENT and subspecialist care to the 550 000 adult and paediatric population of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. All inpatient and emergency care is provided at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, a large district general hospital in Truro, with outpatient care provided at a number of community based facilities.
We would encourage the right candidate(s) to develop skills to complement the existing team but subspecialist interest in rhinology, general paediatric ENT and/or otology would be most desirable. The job plan will include clinic, theatre and on call duties (1:6) with appropriate time for administrative duties and supporting professional activities.
The Royal Cornwall Hospital is a campus of Exeter Medical School, and provides opportunity for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
Cornwall is a beautiful county which offers an outstanding quality of life and providing many opportunities for outdoor activities, including sailing, surfing, equestrian, walking and cycling. There is a thriving arts and theatre scene as well as an interesting variety of eating places, including celebrity-owned restaurants within Cornwall. The major route both in and out of the county is the A30 which connects with the M5 motorway at Exeter. There is an excellent rail service with daily passenger and sleeper service, and an airport at Newquay with daily connections to many cities throughout the UK and abroad.
Applicants are required to be on the GMC Specialist Register, or within six months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT / equivalent certification at the time of interview.
