We are seeking to recruit three substantive Consultant Anaesthetists to our current department of 20 whole time equivalents. These posts have arisen due to expansion.
The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital is located in Birmingham and is an independent foundation trust providing high quality and multidisciplinary care for patients undergoing orthopaedic, spinal (including complex spine) and oncological surgery. The Trust is a tertiary referral center for both these specialties and revision arthroplasty surgery.
Applications are invited from enthusiastic and highly motivated anaesthetists to join our friendly and supportive department. Currently we have 20 consultants, 6 SAS doctors, 4 Physicians Assistants in Anaesthesia & 2 rotating registrars from the Birmingham school of Anaesthesia.
This advertisement is for whole time consultant roles (10.5 PAs). On-call commitment equates to 1:8 which involves covering theatres and critical care services. (level 2 only) and attracts a 0.5PA addition to the weekly clinical job plan. The advertised 10.5 PA already includes this allocation. These job plans will include 2.5 SPA with an anticipation that the successful applicants will contribute significantly to the current commitment of successfully completing ACSA within the coming two years (Accreditation of Clinical Services in Anaesthesia via the RCoA).
