Consultant In Emergency Medicine

King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is continuing to invest in Emergency Care. We are recruiting another consultant in Emergency Medicine for our 12 consultant team that provides on site consultant cover from 8am to midnight seven days a week. This is a new post. King’s College Hospital has two Emergency Departments, one located on the Denmark Hill site and one at the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH). Both sites have vastly differing demographics and run as independent units. This post will be based at the Princess Royal University Hospital, (PRUH).
Formal sub-specialty training in Paediatric Emergency Medicine is desirable but not essential; the appointee will work alongside Dr Sam Thenabadu the Paediatric ED lead, to develop and enhance our service to children and young people.
King’s College Hospital (PRUH) is a Trauma Unit and part of the SE London, Kent and Medway Trauma Network and is also one of the highest performing Hyper-Acute Stroke Units in the country.
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to enjoy the variety of clinical practice that comes from working in a busy district general hospital settings whilst developing their own special interest both clinically and non-clinically. The driving focus of the department is patient safety and quality of care in addition to the further development of the strong training programmes and innovation in clinical care.
You will be responsible, along with the other consultants, for developing and maintaining the high standard of care we provide to our patients. This post will be part of the full Emergency Department Consultant rota.
