Applications are invited for the position of Specialist Otolaryngologist with a special interest in Paediatric Otolaryngology. This is an opportunity to be part of a progressive team based in a modern tertiary hospital.

The position is available from mid- 2018, with the start date to be negotiated with a suitable candidate. This is a full time position based at Waikato Hospital. 

The primary role of this position is to manage paediatric patients. The successful candidate will have expertise in managing paediatric airway problems and otologic complaints.  Some elective general Otolaryngology will be part of the role, and the successful applicant may be required to conduct outpatient clinics and possibly general otolaryngological surgical procedures at one or more of the peripheral hospitals within the Waikato DHB catchment area.

The successful applicant will participate in a 1:6 on call roster covering adult and paediatric otolaryngological presentations.

Applicants should hold FRACS or an equivalent qualification, be eligible for Vocational Registration in Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery with the Medical Council of New Zealand, and have undertaken or be undertaking a Fellowship in paediatric Otolaryngology.

Waikato Hospital is a teaching hospital. The ENT Department participates in teaching of students of the University of Auckland Medical School. Training of pre-SET and SET Registrars is undertaken within the department.
