Lancaster University and Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust wish to appoint a Clinical Professor or Clinical Senior Lecturer in Psychiatry as part of a broader set of appointments to contribute to the next phase of the development of Lancaster Medical School (LMS). Applicants are sought from across the spectrum of academic psychiatry, but we would particularly welcome applicants with an interest in liaison psychiatry or learning disability to complement developments at the Trust. Lancaster University is characterised by its cross-faculty interdisciplinary approach which facilitates innovative and fresh research combining different disciplinary perspectives. The University offers a wide range of interdisciplinary research centres and institutes including expertise in mental health, ageing, data science, and learning disabilities. 
The appointee will hold a clinical appointment at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust and undertake clinical sessions in his/her speciality in collaboration with LMS. This post is jointly funded and offered in association with the Trust, with the post-holder spending half of their time working for each organisation. The appointee will be expected to lead research initiatives across the University and the NHS Trust, resulting in publications in leading international peer-reviewed academic journals. S/he will also contribute to teaching on the Lancaster undergraduate medical programme (MBChB), and attract and supervise PhD students.
