Consultant in Haematology
Applications are invited for two Consultant posts; one replacement post and a newly created post. The successful candidates will join the existing three Consultant Haematologists in providing BCSH level II BHaematology Services.
We are seeking energetic and experienced haematologists who can further develop the high standards maintained by the haematology team. The posts require experience in general haematology with a specialist interest in:
Post One - Non-Malignant Haematological Disorders, including Haemostasis and Blood Transfusion
Post Two - Myeloma and Haemato-Oncology
The appointee will be expected to hold MRCP or equivalent and FRCPath or equivalent.
The James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (JPUH) provides medical services for a population of approximately 230,000 living in South East Norfolk and North East Suffolk, plus a large number of visitors to the coast and Broads National Park during the summer months The Trust has foundation status and is highly regarded within the region.
There are significant teaching and training opportunities with the James Paget University Hospital being responsible for delivering almost a third of secondary care teaching and a significant number of lectures and seminars for the new UEA Medical School. There are also extensive opportunities to develop as a trainer and supervisor of junior doctors. The department of Haematology has an active and extensive research portfolio including participation in national and commercial studies in both malignant and non-malignant haematological disorders.
Candidates must have CCST or be within six months of completion of training or be on, or eligible for, the Specialist Register.
