Clinical Glaucoma Fellow
Hours p/w: 40 hours
Contract Type: Fixed Term for 2 years
Applications are invited for a Clinical Glaucoma Fellowships with posts commencing January/Febuary 2018.
The Glaucoma Service welcomes Fellows who wish to improve their knowledge and skills in the clinical and surgical management of Glaucoma. Applicants will be expected to have completed, or be near to completion of their higher specialist-training programme in Ophthalmology. The Fellowship will provide experience in Glaucoma and its sub-specialities, including Paediatric Glaucoma.
Applicants should be at Specialist Trainee/Registrar/Senior Registrar grade or equivalent. Possession of FRCOphth/MRCOphth or equivalent is essential. A demonstrated commitment to a subspecialist career in glaucoma is desirable. A high level of expertise in phacoemulsification surgery is also essential. Protected time for projects involving research, audit or service/quality improvement are included in each timetable as well as a weekly consultant-led glaucoma teaching session.
All doctors are responsible to maintain a portfolio of their career over the last 5 years in order to satisfy GMC Revalidation criteria. If successful, you will be required to bring along your supporting information portfolio including recent appraisals documents when joining the Trust.
