Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon
Nestled in the heart of Cheshire, with green fields bordering the site on every side, Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust staff benefit from great work, home, education and leisure opportunities. The Trust has three sites, including its headquarters at Leighton Hospital in Crewe – 35 minutes from Manchester or Liverpool and less than an hour away from Birmingham, yet only half an hour away from the Peak District. There are some excellent day nurseries and schools in the local area, including 22 Ofsted “Outstanding Providers”.
The Trust has a formal clinical partnership with its nearby University Hospital, benefits from local universities in Crewe (Manchester Metropolitan University )and in Chester.
The Trust was rated as ‘Good’ by the CQC from its October 2014 full inspection, has a good reputation for research and benefits from some of the very latest clinical facilities; these include Critical Care, neonatal intensive care, a new suite of state-of-the-art theatres and a dedicated day case Treatment Centre. The Trust has invested significantly in recent years in clinical expansion and hospital mortality is ‘as expected’ across the range of indicators.

The successful candidate will join a team of five Consultants, one Specialty Doctor, two Specialist Registrars (on rotation from Health Education England – North West), one Core Trainee and one Foundation Year two Doctor based at Leighton Hospital in Crewe. The successful applicant will be based at Leighton Hospital, Crewe but may also undertake sessions at Victoria Infirmary, Northwich.
The ENT service has been experiencing a period of growth and development and has seen an increase in referrals. The department offers a wide range of subspecialty care and has links with other tertiary centres for the provision of complex major surgery such as for cancer and paediatric airways disease.
