Applications are invited to apply for the above post for the Oxford Kidney Unit at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The Oxford Kidney Unit (OKU) is seeking to appoint a consultant nephrologist to provide a full range of outpatient nephrology and transplant services for the Oxford Kidney Unit (OKU).

The Kidney unit at the Churchill Hospital comprises a 19-bed renal ward, 20-bed transplant ward, six-bed day-case unit, 39 haemodialysis stations, and PD and specialist nursing teams. The OKU has five network units, which are based in High Wycombe, Stoke Mandeville, Swindon, Milton Keynes and Banbury. The service is in the process of outpatient reconfiguration so the clinics required in a network unit location are yet to be decided. This can be discussed further at the visit.

You would join a successful team of seven NHS consultants, and work alongside six university staff. The appointment is on a full time basis though job-share would be considered. Close links with the university mean that the opportunity to develop a special interest is possible, or to be involved in research.

Oxford is a beautiful historic city with much to offer. We have excellent schools and fabulous communities. With access to London there is something for everyone. Organised visits can be arranged to meet with key colleagues and a tour of clinical areas. Candidates who have not made contact with the team or visited will not be shortlisted.

Candidates are highly recommended to visit the department and hospital and are invited to contact Allie Thornley, Matron and Clinical Lead for Nephrology, Oxford Kidney Unit, The Churchill Hospital, email: allie.thornley@ouh.nhs.uk or Tel: Oxford (01865) 228682).
