Consultant Anaesthetist - Chronic Pain
We recognise that our people are our greatest asset. We are delighted to be able to offer opportunities for talented, motivated and enthusiastic clinicians. The Trust has developed proposals for the next, and very exciting phase in the Trusts history. If approved they would create – over the next five years – more centralised care at our Trust in two specialist centres. An emergency care centre with a dedicated paediatric unit and a specialist centre for planned care in a brand new hospital. As part of our investment in the future we have a number of Consultant posts that we are recruiting to. If you want to work in a dedicated, warm and friendly team providing compassionate care submit an application.
We are looking to recruit a Consultant in Anaesthetics with Specialist Interest in Chronic Pain Management to undertake sessions at both Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary. They would be expected to participate in the 1:15 on-call rota. The Anaesthetic directorate supports the Chronic Pain Service which is based at Calderdale Royal Hospital.
There are currently eight modern operating theatres on the Calderdale site grouped around a large central recovery and all theatres are equipped with modern anaesthetic machines and monitoring systems, adjacent to the ICU, HDU and the Pain Department. Within the Pain Department Clinics treatment sessions are carried out by a small specialist team.
On the Huddersfield site there are six theatres with a central recovery which forms the main theatre suite, in addition there are a further three theatres located in a purpose-built self-contained Day Case Unit and the Surgical Procedure Unit also contains an additional theatre used for local anaesthetic cases.
