Consultant in Respiratory Medicine-10 PAs
Applications are invited for substantive full-time (10 PAs) Consultant posts in Respiratory medicine with a sub-specialist interest in lung cancer at Aintree University Hospitals NHS Trust, Liverpool.
Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides general acute health care to a population of 330,000 people in North Merseyside and surrounding areas, and also works with a range of partners to provide services in the community.
Aintree University Hospital is a major teaching hospital of the University of Liverpool and its tertiary centres provide specialist services to a much wider population of around 1.5 million in Merseyside, Cheshire, South, Lancashire and North Wales.
Aintree Chest Centre is part of The Aintree University Hospital and is sit-uated in an area with one of the highest incidences of respiratory dis-eases in the United Kingdom. Each year more than 5000 in-patients and 10,000 out-patients are treated for chest problems.
The Chest Centre provides specialist investigation and treatment for a wide range of Respiratory conditions with dedicated programmes for the management of asthma, care of COPD, diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer; sleep disordered breathing and home ventilation, interstitial lung disease, occupational lung disease and infections.
This is a new post to allow the Trust to continue to develop its respiratory services particularly in the area of lung cancer and pleural disease. Liv-erpool is a vibrant, fast developing city with a vast offer of cultural oppor-tunities as well as access to beautiful countryside in North Wales and the Lake District.
Applicants are required to be on the Specialist Register, have their CCT in Respiratory Medicine or be within six months of obtaining it by the in-terview date. Full Registration and Licensing with the GMC is essential.
