Consultant Cardiologist (Imaging) x 2
Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) and the University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM) will join together to create a new Foundation Trust in October 2017 which will be named Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.
As a result of this plan, it’s such an extremely exciting and challenging period in the delivery of health and social care in Greater Manchester and one that provides a wealth of opportunity. Our new organisation will provide a single hospital service across the city of Manchester and in 12- 18 months will also include the services currently provided by North Manchester General Hospital. These changes will make a real difference to the health outcomes and quality of life for the people of Manchester.
The Manchester Heart Centre on the Manchester royal Infirmary site, is seeking to appoint two Consultant Cardiologists with interest in Cardiac Imagining to support the growing imaging demand within our specialised cardiology services.
These posts provide multi-modality imaging and you will be expected to contribute to a range of imaging modalities. Expertise in stress echocar-diography, TOE and cardiac MR and CT would be particularly welcomed. Within CMR there are opportunities to work at both 1.5T and 3T. A significant component of the work in cardiac MR involves patients with adult congenital heart disease and experience in scanning and reporting in this area is desirable.
Day to day duties will include triage of scan requests, running and super-vising scanning sessions, reporting of studies and staff training. You would also be expected to support the surgical/cardiology MDT as well as specialist MDTs. Ample opportunities exist to support and develop re-search. In addition the post holder will share clinical responsibilities with Consultant colleagues and contribute to the consultant of the week ward based rota within the department.
