Northland covers an area of 12,600 square kilometres and has a population of approximately 160,000. As a region Northland is renowned for its beautiful beaches and relaxed lifestyle.

Northland District Health Board is committed to delivering care in a way that meets the needs of patients and their families. This is done in an environment which supports staff, both in the delivery of their work and in their personal development based on our organisational Values:

We are seeking keen ICU Registrars for 6 to 12 month positions from December 2017. It is expected that the successful candidate will have at least 6 months experience in each of the emergency department and paediatrics. Prior Intensive Care or Anaesthetic registrar time would be desirable. Those candidates that accept a year position will be offered three months in Anaesthesia during their appointment.

Northland is a popular place to work. Our range of patient conditions is some of the more challenging in New Zealand. As well as this you will be staffing the helicopter retrieval and transfer service. There is an active clinical training programme with didactic sessions as well as quality assurance meetings.

If you want to grow as a clinician, reinforce skills, or broaden your experience you need to speak with us.

Before applying you must have either general registration or be eligible for registration with the New Zealand Medical Council (www.mcnz.org.nz). Check if you’re eligible here: http://www.mcnz.org/get-registered/registration-self-assessment-tool/
