Consultant in Dermatology
Northwick Park, St Mark’s, Central Middlesex and Ealing Hospital
Substantive, Full-time- 10PAs
The London North West Healthcare NHS Trust is investing in the reconfiguration and development of its Dermatology Services. These changes will transform the service offered to patients and deliver a truly integrated approach for the benefit of its patients.
Dermatology is an established and well respected service at the London North West Healthcare NHS Trust. The Trust has been recently awarded University Hospital status after being granted membership of the Association of UK University Hospitals (AUKUH), a key leadership body representing University Hospitals across the UK.
The London North West Healthcare NHS Trust now seeks to recruit 3 WTE Consultant Dermatologists to join the dermatology team. This offers the opportunity to shape and develop the service which supports the population of North West London.
The Trust is seeking full time Consultants but consideration would be given to part time applicants as a job share, or flexible working pattern.
You will join the existing team, which includes the Community based team with whom we have started establishing a valuable intermediate/Community link.
This is therefore an extremely exciting time to join this expanding team and to lead the on-going change process – the Trust invites applications from dedicated, innovative individuals which will in turn provide you with a great opportunity for leadership to shape the service of the future.
A sound knowledge of general Dermatology is required; you will have the opportunity and potential to bring an area of clinical sub specialty interest in Cancer, Paediatrics or Community. We run the Specialist Skin Cancer MDT and you will become a core member of this group. There is dedicated Theatre and Minor Operation capacity. We also have available on site Plastics and Maxillio-Facial services. You will also participate in the teaching programmes for Medical Students.
The future plans include continued close working with Community and intermediate services to develop pathways of care such that patients have comprehensive choice, one stop services and access to care closer to home where this is clinically deliverable and possible.
The service has recently been working very closely with the BAD to deliver service improvement.
Applicants must have full GMC registration with a licence to practice, and be on the Specialist Register in Dermatology including CESR or obtain CCT within 6 months of interview. Experience in and passion for Dermatology is essential.
