Do you want to be part of shaping Enfield as a place to thrive and prosper? Managing a diverse portfolio playing an important role in the renewal of local public services? A system leader inspiring people to change?
We are looking for an influential and forward thinking Director of Public Health, not only able to shape public health services but create joined up approaches to reduce inequalities and tackle the wider determinants of health. The Director of Public Health is an important driver of change in Enfield, a leader within our system of public services and the lead officer for our Health and Wellbeing Board. Based on an in depth knowledge of Enfield’s population alongside a fresh and innovative approach, the new Director will support the organisation to deliver its vision of Enfield as a place to live and work, delivering fairness for all with growth and sustainability
and strong communities. They will be expected to forge close alliances with partner organisations across Enfield, the NHS and the Association of Directors of Public Health to drive collective actions to improve health and wellbeing.
As a vibrant and diverse London Borough, Enfield is a dynamic and fascinating place with a long and rich history. It is a place of contrasts, home to some of the most privileged as well as some of the most deprived communities in England. There are farms and parkland as well as densely populated inner city areas, all with their own health challenges requiring their own health solutions. The population is growing and public services are in a process of transformation to better serve the community.
This post offers the opportunity to work in a welcoming organisation entering the next phase of its evolution under a new Chief Executive. As part of Health, Housing and Adult Social Care Directorate, you will manage a team of specialist staff embedded across the Council and the CCG and a multimillion pound budget. There will be the opportunity to lead on a range of areas including local regulatory services. You will have a good understanding of public health principles, able to credibly lead and inspire commitment and action across the organisations and communities in Enfield.
If you think you are up to this challenge we want to hear from you.
