GP Streaming / Unscheduled Care GP - Emergency Department
Your Voice our Vision #AspiringToBeTheBest
Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is introducing a GP streamed service within the Emergency Department at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospitals. This new role will focus on managing patients who attend the Emergency Department deemed to have a condition that can be more effectively managed by a General Practitioner.
The aim is to provide a better patient experience by matching patients to the most appropriate health provider on a single site. In addition it is hoped that the overall waiting times for each patient stream will be reduced.
The role is challenging and interesting. It will provide the opportunity to shape a service that we hope will be the first of many that develop closer collaboration between primary and secondary care. For that reason this post is jointly supported by both HHFT and the North Hants Alliance.
There are opportunities to be employed as a GP specialist with a fixed commitment to the role or to do ad hoc sessional work. In order to dovetail with NHUC, we are initially looking to provide two four-hour sessions per day (1000-1800) on Monday to Friday.
The service is led by the Unscheduled Care Clinical Director who will support and guide you, as you deliver a robust level of care to streamed patients supporting the Emergency Department.
For visits to the department and further enquiries please contact Sara Sparks, Operational Service Manager, at firstname.lastname@example.org or Louisa Chan, Clinical Director, at email@example.com.
