Consultant General Surgeon (0.7wte)
Applications are welcomed for the post of Consultant Surgeon, on a part time basis of 7PAs per week.
The successful candidate will have broad general surgical experience, excellent communication and problem solving skills, and be able to work flexibly as part of an integrated team. A specialist interest is also desirable; you would be encouraged to develop this interest as part of a network with specialists in Glasgow and Highland. An active interest in teaching and support of our team of specialist nurses along with undergraduate students and junior doctors will also be important.
You must be on the General Medical Council Specialist Register with a License to Practise or within six months of obtaining CCT in General Surgery at time of interview.
The Hospital is located on the southern outskirts of Oban and forms a hub for both acute and community services within the area. There are a full range of facilities as expected in a rural general hospital including a 24 hour medical, surgical and anaesthetic service. There are outreach clinics to community hospitals throughout Argyll including the islands of Islay and Mull.
