Substantive Consultant Psychiatrist (Community)
Psychosis Clinical Academic Group (CAG)
Applications are invited for a full time (10PA) community based substantive Consultant Psychiatrist in the Psychosis CAG promoting recovery pathway in Croydon. 2 PA of the total time may be allocated to the Croydon Medication Support Service.
The successful applicant will be working with a multidisciplinary team of
enthusiastic community professionals caring for patients with established psychotic illnesses in an established community team. As the team consultant, the successful applicant will have an integral role in the performance of the team and further development of the service.
The role is based at Jeanette Wallace House in Croydon, a newly refurbished building shared with other SLaM community teams, which is
conveniently located for the extensive transport connections of Croydon.
SLaM is part of King’s Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre,
which includes seven hospitals and over 150 community based services.
SLaM has close links in education and research with the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience and Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ School of Medicine, both of which are part of King’s College London. The Psychosis Clinical Academic Group within the Trust has a tripartite mission, providing a rich environment for engagement in education and research alongside clinical and leadership roles. The Trust is committed to utilising Quality Improvement methodology to improve our services and service user and carer experience and the successful applicant will be expected to commit to this agenda.
