Specialty Doctor

  • 0.8 wte based in Hounslow CAMHS (additional sessions being scoped so there will be the flexibility for full or part-time positions in the team)
  • 0.5 wte based in Ealing CAMHS

West London Mental Health NHS Trust is one of the most diverse trusts in the country, providing a full range of mental health, physical healthcare and community services for children, adults and older people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow, in addition to specialist and forensic mental health services, including high secure services at Broadmoor Hospital.

The trust has an exciting opportunity to appoint two permanent Specialty Doctors to join two of our well-established neurodevelopmental teams within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. It is an exciting time to join the teams as they are working closely with CAMHS Commissioners to review and improve the CAMHS offer across West London, in line with Future in Mind recommendations and providing an opportunity to shape future service delivery. There will be the opportunity to increase sessions in Hounslow CAMHS, this work is currently being scoped.

Both Ealing and Hounslow CAMHS are part of the ‘Developmental Services’ service line which is a very well managed business unit with high functioning clinical governance structures. Both services are a tier 2/3 integrated mental health service providing assessment and treatment from a modern purpose built sites.

The CAMHS service is multidisciplinary with medical, psychology, family therapy, psychotherapy, nursing and allied health professionals all essential members. Trainees from a variety of disciplines are an integral part and the service is well recognised for providing excellent care and a well-regarded training environment. There is an active inhouse academic programme. CAMHS is also a wave 3 IAPT site.

Opportunities will be available to develop your leadership skills, to carry out teaching and research, and to play a key role in clinical governance. High quality appraisal and personal development planning will take place.

West London Mental Health Trust will be your designated body for revalidation.

The successful candidates will be highly motivated and enthusiastic speciality doctors, who are eager to build on their existent skills as psychiatrists, with a genuine interest in child mental health and who wish to develop their expertise in CAMHS being scoped.

The salary range for this post is £37,923 to £70,718 per annum plus London weighting.
