Global Medical affair

Global Medical Affairs

As a Medical Doctor in Global Medical Affairs, you will work with the products from phase 2 onwards. You will play an integral part of the products’ Development and Commercialisation. You will work in an increasingly complex environment with the expansion of Novo Nordisk treatment options available to Health Care Professionals. As a Doctor in Medical Affairs, you will support our Clinical Activities, ensuring consistent scientific communication across phases in clinical trial programmes. You will help ensure Key Opinion Leader engagement, gather insights from experts through Advisory Boards and Expert Panels and engage the KOLs as speakers in a variety of scientific meetings. 

You will also be responsible for optimising Publication Planning by collaborating with external authors. You will also be developing Medical education and continuously disseminating science to physicians at major international congresses and other scientific meetings. You will be a key component by providing Internal Medical Guidance on disease and products to colleagues in Novo Nordisk and support development of marketing materials, based on the latest science and clinical data. 

Medical Science

Medical & Science

As a Medical Doctor in Medical & Science, you will work within clinical research. You will be responsible for leading cross-organisational clinical research activities and the development strategies for the drug you are responsible for. As part of the project team, you will drive the development and implementation of the Product Development Plan with particular focus on the medical need, expected benefit/risk of treatment and the overall plan for clinical development. In later phases, collaborating closely with other experts, you will perform medical interpretation of clinical trial data and participate in the reporting of data in submission documents to the health authorities. You will also be responsible for the publication of clinical trial data in scientific papers. You will interact with international external clinical expert, scientific experts and health authorities to achieve the best possible clinical development program. 

Global Safety

Global Safety

As a Medical Doctor in Global Safety, you will be involved in ensuring that our products are of highest quality and of the lowest risk to patients. You will be an integral part of the team that collects, detects, assesses and monitors adverse events reported during the use of our products in clinical trials and in the market. Your will use your medical, scientific and clinical pharmacology knowledge to evaluate if the adverse events could be related to the NN product. You will advice on relevant mitigating actions to prevent or minimise the adverse events. If considered related to the product, the product information/package insert will be updated with the appropriate information. Global Safety chairs the Safety Committees – there is one for each product - the body responsible for providing integrated assessments of safety data and endorsement of appropriate actions. As a Medical Doctor in Global Safety, you will play a key medical, clinical and scientific role during signal detection, preparation of periodic safety update reports, in answering requests from Authorities and in the filing process of a new drug candidate.

Pharmaceutical Programme

The Pharmaceutical Medicine Programme

Our Pharmaceutical Medicine Programme (PMP) offers a broad introduction to the pharmaceutical industry, with 3 rotations over a 2 years period in Global Development (Medical & Science), Global Safety and Global Medical Affairs. 

Medical doctors, with 2-5 years of clinical experience and preferably research knowledge, are selected for the programme which commences each year in September. After successful completion of the programme, participants are offered a permanent position within the company. The programme has been the springboard for many medical doctors’ progression to key positions within Novo Nordisk. During the time you spend in each of the functions there will be focus on your personal and professional development, you will get cross functional knowledge and experience and a valuable network. The PMP could be your first step towards a life-changing career.
