Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
Are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and forward thinking Consultant Child & Adolescent to a full time post based in their tier 4 service.
The post has arisen as a result of a successful bid to become a NHS-England new model of care service. The service will build on the existing in-patient unit, Forest house Adolescent unit, by the addition of a home treatment team. The post-holder will care for patients within the inpatient unit
and the home treatment team. There will be a total of 3 FTE consultants within the tier 4 service.
The successful candidate will work closely with members of the multidisciplinary team and be expected to provide excellent clinical leadership. HPFT supports and encourages consultants in their career
development and with close links to the University of Hertfordshire there is good opportunity for CPD.
The post holder will be required to provide clinical and professional leadership within the post, and
to take part in management activities related to it and the wider Trust.
The post holder will have an integral role in the performance of the team, further development of the service, and the development of clinical pathways.
Applicants must be fully registered medical practitioners and on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of obtaining their CCT, be approved under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983, and have Approved Clinician status.
