Salary: £76,761 - £103,490 Per Annum Pro Rata
9 Programmed Activities (Sutton)

Applications are invited for this 9 PA substantive Consultant Clinical Oncologist post, to care for patients with prostate cancer and to contribute to postgraduate medical education at the Trust. The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is one of the leading cancer centres in the world and has an international reputation for􀁢the care and treatment it provides. The Associated Institute of􀁢Cancer Research has a similar reputation for research and development. The partnership between the Royal Marsden Hospital and the Institute of Cancer Research constitutes a centre of excellence for research and development, education, treatment and care in cancer. Together they are acknowledged to be one of the largest comprehensive cancer centres in the world. The Royal Marsden serves a local, regional, national and international population from two hospital sites, Chelsea and Sutton.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and forward thinking Doctor in Urology, with special interest in postgraduate medical education. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established and supportive team of oncologists, consisting of five clinical oncologists and one medical oncologist.

This post has been created partly due to the increase in prostate cancer workload (including increasing radiotherapy and prostate pathway complexity) and partly due to internal reorganisation to enable site specialisation.

You will be expected to be able to independently manage prostate cancer using both radiotherapy and systemic therapy (chemotherapy, hormone therapy and biological agents). It offers a unique opportunity to develop expertise in managing cancer patients and engaging in clinical research and academia. In addition this post will have dedicated time to continue developing our postgraduate medical education programme and to ensure our clinical oncology and other, trainees are supported.

Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required. For more information visit

Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within six months of confirmed entry from date of interview or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR). International applicants will need equivalent evidence of completion of training.
