Applications are invited for the above full-time post for the Luton and Dunstable Hospital, a 675-bedded busy acute hospital serving a local population of approximately 310,000. This is an additional post and the appointment will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of service for the 2003 consultant contract (England).

The appointee will join a department of 30 Consultants (8 specialising in ITU), 1 Associate Specialist, 16 Specialty Doctors/Staff Grade or Trust equivalent Doctors, 6 Specialty Trainees (ST3 and above), 5 Core trainees and 4 AACS Trainees 1 FY2 Doctor.

The Hospital has always been renowned for its friendly atmosphere and good working relationships. ongoing developments are now enabling a considerable expansion in facilities, staff and hence services offered. The Teaching Hospital status provides an opportunity to strengthen our teaching and R&D programmes and bring a more academic environment to the hospital. Our links for undergraduate students also includes Cambridge medical school and we have an excellent reputation for junior staff training.

Residence is required within ten miles by road or up to thirty minutes travelling time of the hospital. Applicants must be fully registered on the UK General Medical Council’s Specialist Register. Specialist Registrars may apply if within 6 months of CCT at the date of interview.
