Consultant post in Paediatric Neuro-Disability and Community Paediatric Services
0.8 PA, with the potential to become full-time
This post offers an exciting opportunity for those paediatricians who wish to work in a large District General Hospital setting, acting as member of a team of consultants with special interest in neuro-disability, developmental disorders and chronic disease management. This is a replacement post.
Relocation expenses, flexible working arrangements and support with childcare are available.
Our team takes pride in successfully achieving significant service change and improvements, often a step ahead of other services. We have now firmly stabilised our children’s services following an important merger of two large paediatric departments over the past 10 years. We have negotiated and developed new sustainable ways of delivering paediatric care with our primary care colleagues and commissioners. We are a forward-thinking team with further exciting service developments in sight. New colleagues are expected to bring fresh ideas and energy to take part in our progress for the children of Gloucestershire.
In Gloucestershire, we have the advantage of a single CCG, a single Local Authority, and Local NHS provider services, matching a single geographical catchment area with a child population approaching 140,000.
Candidates are recommended to contact Dr Ewoud Vorstman (Service Line Director, 0300 422 5707), or Dr Sara Motion (Consultant Paediatrician, 0300 422 5788) and to visit the department to gain further information.
Gloucestershire is an area of outstanding beauty. We feel it has all the urban and rural facilities one would wish for, and also very easy links to Bristol, the South West, the Midlands, London, Oxford and Wales. There are grammar schools rated outstanding and a range of independent schools within the county.
