Consultant in Obstetrics (Subspecialist in Fetal Medicine)
The Women’s Directorate is looking to develop our tertiary Fetal Medicine Service by introducing this new full/time post as Consultant Obstetrician with subspecialist training in Fetal Medicine. The directorate is expanding the Fetal Medicine service and would welcome applicants interested in leading and developing the service to its full potential. You will be actively involved in acute and elective Obstetrics and will be subspecialty trained in Fetal Medicine. You would be expected to contribute to the management of fetal anomaly referrals from within the Trust and also to work towards further developing a tertiary service for the surrounding Trusts. You will be expected to work closely with the screening team, Neonatologists, Paediatric Surgeons and the imaging department, with the ability to perform anomaly scans and manage common fetal anomalies and ideally be able to perform amniocentesis and CVS.
You will work across both sites with on-call cover for Obstetrics based at the Royal Sussex County and also provide satellite clinics at neighbouring Trust (Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust).
