Consultant In Radiology with a special interest in Breast Imaging
Applications are invited for a full time substantive position as a Consultant in Radiology with a special interest in Breast Imaging at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
You will join a team of seven Breast Radiologists and a Consultant Radiographer and become an integral member of the internationally renowned multi-disciplinary team based in the Cambridge Breast Unit and NIHR Biomedical Research Centre. The post also consists of general radiology sessions which include CT, US, MDT’s and plain film reporting. The applicant would participate in the CUH Consultant on-call rota.
The breast unit at CUH is fully equipped and offers a full range of modern diagnostic and interventional procedures including tomosynthesis and Contrast Enhanced Spectral Mammography. There are none one-stop symptomatic and four screening assessment clinics per week which all interventional procedures, including vacuum assisted biopsy and excision are undertaken. There is a high quality Breast MR (1.5 and 3T) service with biopsy capability and access to research protocols and hyper-polarised C14. The directorate is closely linked to the University of Cambridge, combining excellence in teaching and research.
Applicants are required to be on the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT at the time of interview. Applicants must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013).
