Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (SPFT) provides mental health, learning disability and substance misuse services to the people of Brighton and Hove, East Sussex and West Sussex and is a Teaching Trust in association with Brighton and Sussex Medical School. There is a thriving Sussex-wide training scheme in psychiatry as well as the MSC Psychiatry course. The Neuropsychiatry Service has taken referrals and provided a psychiatry service for neurological conditions including Parkinsons MS, Non Epileptic attack disorder and a small number of patients with ABI.
The Neuropsychiatry Service are looking to recruit a Consultant Neuropsychiatrist or Consultant Liaison Psychiatrist with a special interest in Neuropsychiatry for a 12 week temporary position on a one day a week basis. The remit of the post is to provide neuropsychiatric assessment of patients and advice to referrers for patients referred to the neuropsychiatry service at Princess Royal Hospital. The service is currently closed to new referrals following the departure of the honorary post holder and the purpose of the post is to provide a neuropsychiatric assessment service for patients on the waiting list. The post will offer assessment only given uncertainties about future funding of the service.
