Consultant in Anaesthetics with generalist interest
Applications are invited for the above full-time posts for the Luton and
Dunstable Hospital, a 675 bedded busy acute hospital serving a local
population of approximately 310,000.
This is an additional post and the appointment will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of service for the 2003 consultant contract (England).
The appointee will join a department of 30 Consultants (eight specialising in ITU), one Associate Specialist, 16 Specialty Doctors/Staff Grade or Trust equivalent Doctors, six Specialty Trainees (ST3 and above), five Core trainees and four AACS Trainees and one FY2 Doctor.
The Hospital has always been renowned for its friendly atmosphere and good working relationships. Ongoing developments are now enabling a considerable expansion in facilities, staff and hence services offered.
With the Teaching Hospital, we have an opportunity to strengthen our teaching and R&D programme and bring a more academic environment
to the hospital.
Our links for undergraduate students also includes University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine and we have an excellent reputation for junior staff training.

The surrounding areas are both urban and rural, the latter including many attractive villages within easy reach of the Hospital. Excellent schools are found nearby. Residence is required within ten miles by road or up to thirty minutes travelling time of the hospital.
There is very good access to central London by road or rail and to the Midlands and the North via the M1 and A1 and London Luton Airport is
within twenty minutes of the hospital.
