Locum Consultant Haematologist

Locum Consultant Haematologist (Clinical and Laboratory with a special interest in Paediatric Haematology
This is a Locum post with 39 hours at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital,
Crumlin, Dublin 12, Ireland on a Type B contract for six months
commencing 2nd October 2017. Flexible/part-time working
Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital at Crumlin is home to the National
Paediatric Haematology and Oncology Service. This service provides full
comprehensive secondary and tertiary malignant and non-malignant
paediatric haematology care, and also advice to other paediatric and
neonatal hospitals and General Practitioners. The current vacancy is in
the benign Haematology team, specifically with primary responsibility
for Red Cell and Haemoglobinopathy services and will also have on-call
commitments for coagulation and leucocyte disorders.
Applicants must have FRCPath, MD/PhD or other postgraduate certification
in the field of haematology. Experience of benign paediatric haematology
practice, including red cell and haemoglobin disorders is desirable.
Applicants must have current or have applied for current registration on the
specialist register of the Irish Medical Council. Overseas applicants must
demonstrate similar current local State Medical registration and will be
obliged to obtain full registration with the Irish Medical Council,
