Applications are invited for the part-time (2 sessions) post of Consultant Psychiatrist in Medical Psychotherapy in NHS Grampian. Become an important part of our team, at the heart of delivering high quality, patient-centred care for the half-million people who live in Grampian. Aberdeen is well known for its superb quality of life and enjoys first class amenities, housing and schools. Aberdeenshire includes some of the most spectacular countryside in Europe with Royal Deeside and the Cairngorm Mountain National Park and a wide range of outdoor pursuits within easy reach of the city. 

There are excellent connections with other British cities and the continent, flying time to London is one hour with more than 20 daily flights - and road and rail links are easily accessible.

This post is now available following a retirement. It will be based pre-dominantly within HMP Grampian. The successful candidate will be joining a multidisciplinary team which includes Nursing and Clinical Psychology. It is an opportunity to help further develop a service and care pathways within HMP Grampian, working closely with colleagues in the Psychotherapy Department, Royal Cornhill Hospital. 

This post sits under the management structure provided by the hosted services for Psychiatry-currently hosted by NHSG. It will also work with the new Integrated Joint Board structures for City and Shire.

Candidates must have a higher medical qualification (MRCPsych or equivalent) and evidence of higher specialist training in Medical Psy-chotherapy (main modality Psychodynamic Psychotherapy). 

Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training in Medical Psychotherapy leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from date of interview or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR).
