Consultant In Forensic Psychiatry (Rehabilitation)
The post is intended to provide the specialist clinical and professional skills of a Consultant Psychiatrist in the areas of Forensic Psychiatry. This post comprises Direct Clinical Care into the service, which includes a 15-bedded low secure unit, and a developing specialist rehabilitation unit, affording opportunity for service development, outpatient care, and liaison with other specialist and non-specialist teams. The service includes experienced medical, nursing, occupational therapy and psychology staff, with active inpatient and carers groups, and a programme of external activities. The successful candidate would help expand the inpatient rehabilitation programme to progress recovery and successful community reintegration, collaborating with the well-established Community Forensic Mental Health Team. Non-clinical activities are supported, such as CPD, audit and research.
