We care for both the rural and urban community within the Western Bay of Plenty and are New Zealand’s 5th largest urban population. Tauranga and Mount Maunganui are one of the holiday destinations for Kiwis and boast beautiful beaches, excellent outdoor sporting opportunities and enviable lifestyle choices. 

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our team of 10 Emergency Medical Consultants at Tauranga Emergency Department with a mix of FRCEMs and FACEMs. 

The Hospital is a 330-bed secondary care level hospital servicing a growing population of over 170,000. The Emergency Department sees a diverse case-mix, with over 52,000 presentations per annum of which 25% are Paediatric.

The Service is accredited for registrar training and have strong links with the University of Auckland. In addition we seek an individual who has the skills to foster a learning culture across undergraduate and postgraduate staff, with the support of the BOP clinical school and the University of Auckland. The school also provides clinical research opportunities.
