Locum Consultant Neuro Anaesthetist

Applications are invited for the post of locum consultant in Neuro Anaesthesia. The successful applicant will join Consultant Anaesthetists working in our Neurosurgical programme and may also undertake sessions in other specialties. There are over 90 Consultants working within anaesthesia at QEHB.
Experience in the management of anaesthesia for neurosurgical and neuro-radiological procedures are invited to apply, must have FRCA, or equivalent, and be on the GMC specialist register or, if in training, eligible to be on the specialist register within 6 months of the interview date. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the Divisional and Departmental audit & governance programme as well as in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
The hospital has 40 operating theatres and a 100-bed critical care unit, the largest co-located critical care unit in the world. The Trust is a Level 1 Trauma Centre and is host to the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine (RCDM) and the UK’s Institute for Health Research Surgical Reconstruction and Microbiology Research Centre (NIHR SRMRC). The Institute of Translational Medicine (ITM), in collaboration with the University of Birmingham, is also on site.
