Consultant In Intensive Care Medicine and Anaesthesia
Based at the Leicester General Hospital Site
Applications are invited for whole-time or part-time Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine and Anaesthesia to commence as soon as possible.
We are seeking a highly trained individual committed to Intensive Care Medicine. Applicants must hold a CCT in Anaesthesia or Intensive Care Medicine (or equivalent) or be within 6 months of obtaining this at the time of interview.
One substantive replacement post appointment is sought which will bring the team in Intensive care up to 9 whole time Consultants at Leicester General Hospital, UHL. The critical care unit is funded for 9 level 3 beds admitting in excess of 600 patients per year.
The successful applicant will be expected to make a significant contribution to the continued development of critical care services in UHL They will be required to undertake management duties, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, clinical audit and participate in the planned reconfiguration of Intensive Care Services in UHL.
The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust consists of three acute teaching hospitals serving the population of Leicestershire and the wider region. It is fully committed to Continuing Medical Education for Consultants.
As this post is regulated by the Protection of Children Act 1999, The Criminal Justice Courts Act 2000 and / or the Care Standards Act 2000 an enhanced police criminal records disclosure will be requested by the Trust in the event of a successful application.
