We are now looking for two Consultant Ophthalmologiststo join our Glaucoma service – one based at Queen Mary’s Sidcup, and the other at Princess Royal University Hospital. Whichever team you choose to join, you can expect to find good facilities with dedicated eye theatres, plus a progressive unit of orthoptists, optometrists and ophthalmic photographers, supported by a talented team of technicians and specialist nurses. 

You will be a leading member of a large service that is currently undergoing a range of exciting developments. As well as providing comprehensive, excellent and innovative services, you will make an active contribution to shaping their future. In particular, you’ll demonstrate a commitment to developing nurse-led, virtual and community services to meet the needs of our patients. Because the hospital is a member of an Academic Health Sciences Centre, you can also look forward to opportunities to pursue your research interests.

To join us, you must either be on the GMC’s Specialist Register, or have the appropriate CCT. If you have passed your exit exam (or equivalent) we can consider your application if you will be within six months of your CCT in mid-September 2017, when interviews for these posts will be held. Naturally, we will expect you to demonstrate proven expertise in Glaucoma.
