We are now seeking to appoint an experienced Consultant Dermatologist with an interest in cancer. Specialising in adult dermatology, you will be based at the Beckenham Beacon hospital, joining a team of seven. This busy hospital is set in a lovely town that is currently benefitting from an extensive high-street redevelopment project, and offers a range of services including a weekly pigmented lesion clinic, daily clinics, operating lists and a nurse-led day treatment centre. There will also be research and audit opportunities within this role, plus you will be expected to teach and mentor staff including post graduate students. Developing our skin cancer services, you will also see general dermatology patients, and you will have the option to care for those dealing with severe drug reactions and inflammatory disease management, making this role absolutely unique in its ability to be shaped by your specific interests.
A natural leader with the willingness to share your knowledge with junior staff, you will have exceptional communication skills and a passion for delivering first-class levels of care to every patient. Taking responsibility for holding out-patient clinics in periphery hospitals, your specialist training in dermatology will be complemented by MRCP higher qualifications and your name will be on the GMC specialist register. With solid experience of conducting clinical research and audits, you will also have knowledge of organising dermatology services in a busy teaching hospital, with the capability to juggle a busy workload.
This role isn’t just an interesting job, it’s a career defining opportunity with the scope to enhance your lifestyle. It is important to us that our staff achieve a good work-life balance, so your family commitments will be supported with childcare advice and nursery facilities, plus the option to apply for this role as a job share. We may also be able to offer support to any consultants considering relocating. With flexibility such as this – plus a community of people who truly appreciate the services we are offering – this is a great opportunity to pursue your career in a supportive, friendly and enthusiastic environment.
