The successful candidates will be able to take advantage of the Welsh Consultant contract and additional Health Board benefits including a lease car scheme.The basic salary range for this post is: £72,927 per annum to £94,679 per annum plus up to £25,632 per annum available through further commitment awards.
Glan Clwyd Hospital is currently undergoing a £100 million redevelopment.
The North Wales Cardiac Centre has an eight-bed CCU, cardiology ward, cardiac outpatient facility and cardiac physiology departments. The catheter laboratory is located alongside a day case unit, ambulatory lounge, seminar room and consultation rooms.
The department prides itself on providing excellent and friendly care for patients, close multidisciplinary team working and continual service development.
There are many opportunities to take part in supporting professional activities, including research, management and teaching, at both a local and national level.
North Wales Cardiac Centre is the third largest PCI unit in Wales, performing around 1000 stented and invasive diagnostic procedures each year. A complete tertiary PCI service is provided, including rotational atherectomy, a full hybrid CTO programme and 24/7 primary PCI for a population of 0.75 million.
There are two Siemens Artis catheter laboratories, installed in 2017 and 2014. They are equipped to a very high standard, including OCT with co-registration, integrated IVUS and integrated pressure wire / iFR.
The Consultant Interventional posts are suitable for newly-qualified or experienced consultant interventionists.
The successful candidates will participate in the on-call rota for primary PCI, currently 1 in 6, and share general cardiology inpatient and outpatient care at Glan Clwyd Hospital.
The North Wales Cardiac Centre has British Society of Echocardiography departmental accreditation and undertakes a full range of echocardiography techniques including 3D trans-oesophageal and stress echocardiography.
The Health Board is committed to increasing its provision of cardiac MRI and tho Consultant Imaging position will be pivotal in enabling the CMRI service to develop.
