Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Trust in Partnership with Guy’s & St Thomas’s Foundation NHS Trust

Applications are invited for a full time 2 Consultant Urological Surgeon posts: post 1: core urology with special interest in prostate cancer diagnosis and post 2: core urology with special interest in stone management at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust (Queen Elizabeth and University Hospital Lewisham).

One post is a replacement appointment and the second one is a new post. Both post are in partnership with Guy’s &  St Thomas’s Foundation NHS TRUST, as the successful candidate will spend one day every 2 weeks at GSTT to develop further her/his special interest.

The post holder will be part of a dynamic urology team who provide care across a wide range of core urology, uro-oncology and urinary incontinence. The post holders will be joining 3 consultant urological surgeons in the department.

The 2 posts are available immediately and providing elective and emergency urology service including participation on a 1 in 5 on-call rota.

She/he will be expected to have experience in a wide range of core urology from acute management to long term follow up where appropriate.

This is an outstanding opportunity to work in a fast growing, and well equipped urology department in London.

The department has facility for template prostate biopsy, green laser prostectomy, flexible ureteroscopy and laser stone management, bipolar TURP and will establish urinary continence service.

The Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust was created in 2013 from a merger of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with University Hospital Lewisham, as part of a reconfiguration of services in South East London recommended by the Health Secretary.

The hospitals cover the London Boroughs of Lewisham, Greenwich and parts of Bexley, with a combined population of more than 500,000 people. All candidates should be on the Specialist Register with the GMC or be within 6 months of obtaining their CCT.
