A great place to work, a great place to live

Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust was founded in January 2012 coming together from Norfolk & Waveney Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust and Suffolk Mental Health Partnership.

An opportunity has arisen to appoint a Perinatal Consultant 10 PAs

The successful applicant will be working closely with Maternity services in Suffolk and colleagues within the Mental Health services.

This is a new service which affords the opportunity of being involved in its development as well as future developments. Good clinical leadership skills will be an essential component of the post.

The Trust encourages applications from highly motivated, enthusiastic doctors who would welcome the opportunity to work in a high quality service in a beautiful part of the world. The Trust encourages leadership roles for senior clinicians as part of the core job and in additional roles, where available, in medical education, management, research and teaching. We have strong links with The University of Cambridge Medical Schools, University of East Anglia and regular medical student attachments.

Suffolk is a predominantly rural area but with good rail and road links to London, and, via the coastal ports and Stansted airport, to Europe and further afield! Ipswich is the largest town in Suffolk and has gone through significant regeneration in recent years. Bury St Edmunds is the largest of the market towns in the west of Suffolk, forming the centre of a ring of attractive market towns.

Suffolk has a very low crime rate and is classed as a safe place to live. There are also some very good schools in the area.

Applicants for the post should have or be eligible for a CCT and eligible onto the Specialist Register within six months of the interview date. Full GMC registration, approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act, eligibility for Approved Clinician status and appropriate adult psychiatry experience are required.
