Consultant Anaesthetist with an Interest in Chronic Pain

Applications are invited for the post of full-time Consultant Anaesthetist with an interest in Chronic Pain. Other interests can be accommodated. This is a replacement post following the retirement of a senior consultant and due to increased departmental activity. The post-holder will join a team of consultants to deliver a 1:18 on call general rota covering theatres, maternity and other emergencies and a 1:12 trauma weekend service to our local population of 370,000. There is a separate ITU on call rota but mutual support is expected.
The Anaesthetic Department delivers care to both elective and emergency patients as well as providing a specialist chronic pain management service and a pre-assessment clinic with CPEX services.
The Department is supported by trainees from both the KSS Deanery and the London Deanery and 8 middle grade specialty doctors.
The Medway Maritime Hospital is the largest hospital in Kent, providing all acute services on the Medway Maritime Hospital site. We are an Associated University Teaching Hospital and actively encourage placements from UK & international medical schools.
