Consultant Haematologist with an interest in Haemato-Oncology
Applications are invited for a full time (10 PA) general Haematologist with interest in haemato-oncology based at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital. This is a new post.
The post holder will be welcomed into an enthusiastic team of seven consultant haematologists (including this post), with a 1 in 5 ward-attending rota and on call. A sub-speciality interest within haemato-oncology will be encouraged. The department has a national reputation for the management of patients with CLL, MDS and myeloma. There is a comprehensive clinical trials portfolio with a full team of specialist nurses and data collection
staff. Haemostasis and thrombosis work is covered by an established consultant and is not part of this job.
It is essential that you possess MRCP and FRCPath (or equivalent training and experience). Experience in managing patients with acute haematological malignancies is essential. Applicants should be on the GMC Specialist Register or have their CCT.
Applicants who are within six months of obtaining their CCT on the date of the AAC may also apply. Candidates wanting to work part-time or job-share will be considered.
The Royal Bournemouth Hospital is situated in Dorset. The area is of outstanding natural beauty with blue flag beaches, access to the Purbecks and the New Forest, yet still has easy access to London by rail (travel time to Waterloo 1 hour 50 minutes).
