We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Pelvic Cancer Urological Surgeon.
The Urology department is part of the Surgical Division which en-compasses all Trust wide surgical specialties, Anaesthetics, Critical Care and Chronic Pain. The department has an onsite ESWL lithotripter together with an interventional radiology department. The East Kent Urology Department is the largest department in Kent and Medway currently comprising of nine consultants, looking to expand to ten. The department is centralised at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital and is highly productive, treating a broad range of general and specialist urological conditions. The department has a dedicated urology ward and emergency area, specialist nursing support for cancer, benign conditions, and emergency care. It is a designation specialist robotics unit, offering high volume robotic prostatectomy, cystectomy and renal surgery. In addition the department offers a stone service performing PCNL, ESWL, flexible ureterorenoscopy and laser lithotripsy. The department is complemented by two outpatient diagnostic and therapeutic centres, at KCH and the Derry Unit, Folkestone and offers outpatient services additionally at Margate, Dover and Ashford.
