Consultant Anaesthetist with an interest in Obstetric Anaesthesia
Applications are invited to apply for a Consultant Anaesthetist with a special interest in Obstetric Anaesthesia (10 P.A.),. This is a replacement post to join our expanding friendly team of 24 Consultants and 10 Intensivists supported by 2 Associate Specialists, 9 Specialty Doctors, 1 Staff Grades, 2 Clinical Fellows and 18 trainees from CT1- ST7.
The successful applicant would be will join a team of 5 other consultant anaesthetists with regular Labour Ward sessions. The successful applicant will provide anaesthetic services to the Maternity Unit including Elective Caesarean Section Lists and antenatal high risk clinics. Our Level 3 NICU Unit means that the successful applicant will be expected to support junior anaesthetic staff in the management of preterm high risk obstetric cases. The successful applicant will also be required to take responsibility with his/her Colleagues in the provision of a full Anaesthetic Service for the department and will assist with the training of junior anaesthetic staff.
Ashford & St. Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is located in a pleasant area to the south west of London and serves a population of 450,000 on the borders of Surrey and Middlesex. Local towns include Woking, Chertsey, Walton-on-Thames, Weybridge, Staines, Bedfont, and Feltham. There are 520 beds covering a wide range of specialties, a full imaging service with CT/MRI facilities and a full range of laboratory services. There are modern Postgraduate facilities and well stocked libraries with internet access on both sites.
Applicants are required to be fully registered and must be on the GMC’s Specialist Register, or be eligible for admission to the Register within six months from the date of interview for the post.
